BARRINGTON MILES: CEO
Miles moved to the United States from Jamaica in 1989 to pursue new opportunities. In 200 he started Texas Pro DJ, a company that provides Dj services for events in the state of Texas. A huge success, Texas Pro DJ has been named "the best DJ's in Texas" for private events.
In 2010 Miles finally opened Dub Academy, an idea he had been toying with for years. Miles recognized that there is a huge demand for professional DJ's, but not nearly the amount of quality, trained artists to fill the demand. Furthermore, the art of DJing has always been mystifying:
"When someone wants to learn how to DJ, they have to figure it out for themselves. A lot of people don't have the money to buy the equipment just to try it out, so they just don't try it. You are lucky if you have someone who can show you the ropes, but most of the time you are learning on your own, teaching yourself bad habits on the decks"
Dub Academy is Miles' solution to the de-mystification of the turntables. In DJ 101classes, students can learn from the best in the business, one step at a time.

LORENZO VILLAREAL: COO With a heavy passion for music, Lorenzo immersed himself in the DJ culture at a young age, drawing his influences from the likes of World DMC Champion DJ Craze, DJ Klever, Pete Rock, & Kid Koala. Lorenzo's career in the music industry began by being an event coordinator for the last seven years throwing shows around the Texas area. This progressed into sales work for various organizations until he met Barrington in mid 2010. Their relationship grew as Lorenzo quickly proved he was a capable and profitable event coordinator, desiring to take on bigger challenges. In early 2011 Lorenzo took on the Creative Director position. In addition to this, Lorenzo is also the Event Coordinator and instructs DJ courses. |

KAIVAN BAZLEH: HEAD INSTRUCTOR Kaivan, also known as KB, freshly inspired from the DJ Battle scene in the 1992 film, Juice, decided to purchase his first turntables at the age of 15. KB taught himself to mix and scratch by reading articles and watching videos of his heroes, DJ Qbert and Mix Master Mike. Today, KB is highly regarded in the Austin music community, known for his skills with vinyl, mainly scratching, juggling, and drumming. He has been named "Best DJ in Austin" and held down a residency at the famous Rooftop at Speakeasy since 2009. KB has performed alongside musical guests such as the Cool Kids, Zeds Dead, DJ AM, Atrak, Major Lazer, and Miami Horror. In 2011 KB joined Dub Academy as Head Instructor. His passion for teaching transcends his classrooms and he enjoys inspiring students with a love for music. |

JOSEPH PAILO:ABLETON INSTRUCTOR
One of 33 certified Ableton instructors in the country, Joseph is the only certified Ableton instructor in Texas. He has been working in the music scene for the past fourteen years on his Out of the Bag record label. A graduate from the University of Pittsburgh, Pailo likes to "try any style of music with Live." Pailo has used Live since version 4 and has been teaching Ableton since version 5. "Setting up systems and helping people is what Ableton inspires me to do every day. Live is my favorite toll for sampling, tracking, mixing, and mastering." Joseph teaches basic studio setup, MIDI 101, ReWire, Live with Reason (Record), DJing, and Production. |
